Contested and Uncontested Divorce ◊ Custody and Support ◊ Property Matters
If you are considering filing for divorce or are already a party to a divorce proceeding, you need an experienced lawyer to help you understand and address the different concerns, from the determination of child custody or support to the equitable distribution of the debts and assets of the marriage.
At the Law Office of Elizabeth A. Call, in Park Forest, I represent men and women in divorce proceedings in Illinois and Indiana. My practice is built on a commitment to personal service and accessibility. When you retain me to handle your divorce, you will work directly with me at all times. In addition to being accessible, I also work with you to make the services of an attorney affordable even if you think you cannot afford it. As a result, many of my new cases are referrals from former or existing clients.
I provide a free initial consultation to all divorce clients. Contact my office or call me at 708-260-8487 (toll free at 888-493-8916) for a free initial consultation.
My Divorce Practice
I represent men and women throughout the divorce process, from the initial filing through post-judgment requests for modification or enforcement of existing divorce decrees. I handle all matters related to or arising out of a contested or uncontested divorce, including:
- Marital property settlements. I will help you fairly divide the debts and assets of your marriage, including real and personal property, financial accounts, retirement funds and business interests. I will assist you with property valuations, if necessary, and will refer you to a bankruptcy lawyer, when appropriate.
- Spousal support or maintenance (alimony). I will work with you to determine whether alimony or spousal support is necessary and, if so, the amount, frequency and duration of payments.
- Child custody and visitation/parenting time. I will help you put arrangements in place that focus on the best interests of your children while protecting your rights as a parent. See my page on custody and support for more.
- Child support. I will review all proposed child support orders for compliance with Illinois or Indiana guidelines, and to make certain income is correctly calculated.
A divorce can involve many unanticipated matters. You want an experienced attorney to help you proactively consider and address the contingencies.
